Here are some screenshots of graphical environments running on GoboLinux. If you're running a desktop environment that's not portrayed here, send your screenshot along with a description to gobo AT gobolinux DOT org.
The 3rd GoboLinux port for ARM processors, running on the XScale. The desktop shows TestGtkEmbed, an experimental tiny browser based on Firefox' GtkEmbed library for small devices, while MRXVT lists available programs for this platform. Contributed by Lucas C. Villa Real.
This is GoboLinux 015 desktop running Enlightenment.
GoboLinux 014, with full Japanese support. Contributed by Keisangi.
"My gobo desktop, dark kde". Contributed by Keisangi.
This is GoboLinux 013 running the ROX Desktop, showing ROX's DirIcon feature and XMMS using the BMP's default skin. Contributed by Koen Weddepohl.
Jonas Karlsson shows the first screenshot of the Beryl window manager on GoboLinux, just a few minutes after he succeeded creating its recipe. Pretty cool!
Koen Weddepohl contributed a screenshot of his desktop, and writes: "This is GoboLinux 012 running the ROX desktop. I got the wallpaper from mirrorshades.net."
Jonatan Liljedahl contributed a screenshot of his GoboLinux system: "Here's one of my ROX desktop, while running my compositional programming environment 'KyCE'... =)"
A GoboLinux 012 based system, featuring Manager, a graphical management front-end. GoboLinux does not require a packages database to be kept, since /Programs stores the files from each installed program version in a separate subdirectory. Contributed by André Detsch.
Gnome 2.4 running on GoboLinux, in a dual-head Xinerama setup. Contributed by Stu Penrose, who was also the contributor of the Gnome package set.
Emacs in all its glory, and the non-intrusive IceWM. RXVT shows a listing of the root directory, generated by our ls wrapper, called simply l. Contributed by Leandro Motta Barros.
GoboLinux 010 in action. Along with the great Liquid theme, there are two custom "liquid" themes, for visual consistency: an XMMS theme called XLiquid-Lode (a modification of XLiquid), and a GTK+ theme called LodeLiquid, which uses the excellent QtPixmap engine (this way, the GTK+ color scheme follows that of KDE). Also notice the antialiased GTK+1 apps, thanks to GDKXFT. All in all, this is the look you'll find in the live CD environment in GoboLinux 010. Contributed by Hisham Muhammad.
A cool, anti-aliased desktop, courtesy of ROX filer and XFWM4. Look how /Programs displays only a few files... Jeff chose to leave the rest "gobohidden". Contributed by Jeff Cutsinger.
GoboLinux 006 running WindowMaker. Konqueror is displaying the directory tree. Notice that the legacy paths are not being displayed, thanks to the GoboHide kernel patch, available in GoboLinux 006. Contributed by Lucas Correia Villa Real.
GoboLinux 006 booting up! Submitted by Guilherme Bedin
A typical GoboLinux 005 session, featuring antialiased TrueType fonts and two bitmap fonts created especially for GoboLinux: 'Lode Fixed' on the terminal, and 'Lode Variant' on the window titlebars. Contributed by Guilherme Bedin.
And Fernando Massen does it again. Check out Rootless GoboLinux running hosted in Mac OS X running in his iBook, in a dual-head setup. Note that this is still work in progress, but these are the first steps towards portability to non-x86 architectures. Contributed by Fernando Massen.
And it appears that Rootless GoboLinux is way more portable than we expected! Here's a shot of Rootless GoboLinux being used on top of Cygwin on Windows 2000. There's also a glimpse of the old GoboLinux webpage there... Contributed by Fernando Massen.
